Re: Anatomy of a POV file (e.g. L3P suggestions)

(...) For newbies I think it's nice that the POV file is self-contained and ready-to-render. However, using certain coming options you can exclude camera and lights. Why would you like submodels in separate .inc files ? Only to have a smaller (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Anatomy of a POV file (e.g. L3P suggestions)

(...) Optional, yes that would be nice. But I also see the strength in the fact that all data needed are gathered in the same file. I have downloaded so many pov-files just to discover that they have references to inc files I fail to find on the (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Automated Inventory Ordering through Bricklink

(...) If you go into BrickLink's "Search", then "Find Stores", you can upload an XML file of all the parts you want, and it will find the stores which have all (or most) of those parts. There's a help file on how to build the XML file (URL) here>. (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.inv, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.market.brickshops, FTX)

Re: LDraw Animation Behaviour .dat Files?

(...) So what is the status of the LCD? I haven't heard from it for quite a while. /Tore (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw Animation Behaviour .dat Files?

(...) You should try and merge/append this with the connection database, e.g. model behavior vs. part behavior. No sense coming up with two different ways of doing basically the same thing. (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Ldraw Minifig "Machinima" POVray include file

I was wondering if anyone else had released similar include files? (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation)

Re: Restart of LDA2001 Project (using LDraw models - L3P - POV)

(...) Don't get me wrong. Story based is exactly what I have in mind. (...) ... (...) The Siggraph movie is exactly what you see it is, showcases of models. Specifically, they are a collection of animations that are showcases. No attempt to tell a (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.animation)

Re: Call for Nominations: 2005 LDraw.org Steering Committee

(...) Just to clear up a bit of confusion. This nomination is for the Ldraw.org Steering Committee (SteerCo) and not for the LDraw.org Standards Committee (LSC). The difference is the SteerCo is responsible for the overall governence of LDraw.org (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

Re: Call for Nominations: 2005 LDraw.org Steering Committee

(...) Thanks, Ross and Timothy, for this (unexpected) nomination. I must decline though because of lack of time. Maybe next time, having a LeoCAD user at the LSC would be nice... Philo (20 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

Re: Povray is not rendering the whole picture

(...) Thanks for the help, it looks like I had spaces in the names and that was the problem. I forget that these programs are old outdated software that cant handle a little space in the name. Thnanks Dave (20 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Automated Inventory Ordering through Bricklink

(...) Yes. the sheer number of combinations can quickly get ridiculous and it gets hard to evaluate which is "best." I cheated by making a few asumptions. I'll share them when I dig up the code, I don't remember the details off hand. -JSM (20 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.inv, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.market.brickshops)

Re: Automated Inventory Ordering through Bricklink

Re: Povray is not rendering the whole picture

(...) It seems like L3P does not find the path to the submodels(?) Are they all in the same folder? How are the files named? Any spaces in the filenames or paths? (20 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Povray is not rendering the whole picture

Hello all I have built a multi part model in Mlcad and then use L3P add on to make a POV file. But it never renders the submodels. What am I doing wrong that makes POV not see the rest of the model? Dave (20 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...)
