Re: Why aren't LDRAW tools Open Source?

(...) Thanks, I presume you don't run Windows XP on that Large Font system? It seems XP implements Large Fonts differently, to ensure that programs created with Borland Delphi does not scale well :-( -- Anders Isaksson, Sweden BlockCAD: (2 URLs) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Why aren't LDRAW tools Open Source?

Ok, I tested it on my Large Font system and ldlist 4.1 looks good! Thanks, Don (21 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Why aren't LDRAW tools Open Source?

(...) Actually, I'd very much like to figure what definition information can be put in part files, and how model files could then specify the specific way the part is deformed. Steve (21 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: New LDraw contest?

(...) There is another ongoing contest related to LDraw animation. Who will be the first to set up a system for LDraw animating made really easy? I know at least four different attempts, including my LDA2001. Maybe LD4D is the most promising so far. (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.animation)

  Re: New LDraw contest?

(...) Quarterly sounds good to me too. Since this has the potential to be really cool, and its not as often as once a month, I wonder what the chance of getting people/companies to sponsor small prizes (less than USD 50 value) for the winners? Does (...) (21 years ago, 18-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: New LDraw contest?

(...) Quarterly sounds pretty realistic. Bi-monthly would be better, but maybe too optimistic. Depends on how many people out there think that they can contribute ... speak up, folks! >Is there any interest in this? Lots!! I'm working on the Ldraw (...)   Re: New LDraw contest?

No way! I couldn't wait for a bi-annual competition. I'll admit that though I'm not so skilled with animation, I'm still learning and experimenting with new things, such as camera/model rotation etc. It might not even need to be a contest. It could (...) (21 years ago, 18-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  Re: New LDraw contest?

(...) Quarterly would be okay, but i think bi-annual is more realistic. Most animations are still "infant" in nature, with the exception of one or two indiviudals that have learned to harnest the power of POV-Ray animation. -AHui A&M LWorks (URL) (21 years ago, 18-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  New LDraw contest?

Given the recent activity with animations, I've been toying with the idea of an LDraw Animation of the XXX (where XXX is some specified time) contest. I think monthly is too short but how about quarterly or trimesterly? Is there any interest in (...) (21 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  GLIDE - More about cameras.

(...) Hmmm, maybe Mozilla fooled me by reusing a download from the cache. I used wget on a different machine and got the one from the 16th. I'll have to get back to you when I get a chance to test it on the large font system though. Don (21 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad)
