  .INC files for radiosity updated

Hi all, I updated the radiosity files today. The sysem is somewhat simpler: the files are called radio_0.inc (no radiosity), radio_1.inc (simple radiosity), radio_2.inc (medium quality) and radio_3.inc (high quality). There are also c-versions which (...) (22 years ago, 13-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: A few ideas to toss around.

(...) Actually, a much better solution would be to scrap POV altogether and go with Blender or something of the kind (URL) reasoning behind it is that POV is the worst possible way of learning 3D rendering. Placing the lights illustrates why very (...) (22 years ago, 13-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Proposal: New Part Numbering System

(...) I asked italy@lego.com for the index number on the sticker sheet in 6970 after I hadn't got reply on this post: (URL) was told (in a very friendly way) that all information regarding discontinued sets has been destroid.   Re: A few ideas to toss around.

(...) That's how the current light.dat works. You set the colour of the light by the part colour, and that means you can set the brightness of the light by the brightness of the colour. I have tried this and it works pretty well. Cheers Allister (22 years ago, 13-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Are the illustrations for the modeler's book series created with Ldraw compatible software?

(...) LGEO does have textured slopes, not mapped but calculated on the fly by POV. The effect is similar to that of the pics in the books. (...) I'm not sure what you mean by this (?) Here is more odd stuff: In "Lego City, The Ultimate Sticker (...) (22 years ago, 13-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Are the illustrations for the modeler's book series created with Ldraw compatible software?

(...) I don't think they used LDraw -- unless LGEO has textures mapped on sloped parts. Also, the tiles are grooved, LDraw's tiles weren't grooved in 1999. Steve (22 years ago, 13-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: A few ideas to toss around.

(...) Well I think it's a good idea, and can't see any reason it wouldn't work - you could even use the part colour to set the light colour. The only limitation I can see is how to set the brightness of the light, but perhaps that doesnt matter too (...) (22 years ago, 13-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Are the illustrations for the modeler's book series created with Ldraw compatible software?

I must say that now I have the book in hand, the images are deffinately rendered. You can, like you said, cleary make that out from the shadows. I doubt though the used LDraw, for the book I have (Animals) dates back to 1999. One other possibility (...) (22 years ago, 12-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)
