  Re: 2x4 Brick Renders

(...) Yeah, I left out the rounded edges, the very shallow 90 degree cut-out on bottom of the inside wall, some horizontal raised ridges on the inside wall, and the four convex bulges on the inside walls of the tubes. The latter three were merely (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: 2x4 Brick Renders

(...) Wow! Very cool. :) One detail you did leave out, although I haven't measure its size, is the rounded edges of the bricks (studs should be even more rounded than the rest of the brick). It's a pain to add, but it would add a lot to the (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: 2x4 Brick Renders

Thanks for all the great comments (in both discussion and private email). I had not anticipated such a positive response. I've set up a thumbnail index for the scenes, which I will upload via ftp after I finish rendering my latest scene, a single (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.general)

Re: Automatic Part Selection Query (Part 2)

It's not a matter of knowing the program. I was just trying to find a solution within the standard DAT/MPD format. :) Steve (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: ldglite version 0.8.0

(...) It's a 400MHz Pentium II with Matrox G200 video card. At the time, I was running Linux 2.2 and X Windows 3.x. I don't think this combo did any hardware acceleration. When using anti aliasing, I didn't notice any performance drop at all. It was (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: 2x4 Brick Renders

(...) I think that what you have done is just plain jaw-dropping *cool*, Micah! You folks who render LEGO in CAD are doing the neatest things! I am so not computer-savvy and am greatly impressed with the images which can be generated. Although (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.general)

  Re: ldglite version 0.8.0

(...) What platform have you used the antialiasing on? My linux test box only has a 256 color unaccelerated video card. The performance goes from poor to unacceptable when I try to antialias on it. Meanwhile the software only opengl driver for (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: ldglite version 0.8.0

(...) Ah, I actually thought that ldglite had different features in Windows, which I found to be a bit odd. (...) I agree that this feature is very nice in LDLITE, and I have used it a lot to compose large images. The goal of this was mainly to do (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: ldglite version 0.8.0

(...) ... Whoops! That should say "LDLite 2.0 in Windows". (I've been typing that g so much that it just slipped out without me knowing about it) I think the -U option of LDLite is a terrific feature and just wanted to make at least a portion of it (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad)
