  Re: L3PAO small update available

(...) Hmm.. that's odd, because L3PAO should check for POV and still continue even if it isn't found. But then again, I've never tested it on a system that *didn't* have POV installed. Tonight I'll try uninstalling my POV and see if I get the same (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

On the difficulty of making building instructions

On the difficulty of making building instructions: Last sunday I spent most of the day (except for a few hours out in the snow) showing my cousins how to make - or should I say _draw_ - building instructions on a computer. Personally I use (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New Part - 3900 Minifig Signal Holder

(...) The edge lines from the handle extend into the circular panel. This won't look too good if the part is transparent. Plus the angle of entry for the edge lines is narrow so it throws off the edge line offset in ldglite at certain viewing (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: L3PAO small update available

Hi Jeff (and others) I have installed all that I (should) need, but L3PAO won't run for me. I have Windows NT 4.0 workstation. I have installed the VB 6.0 files, I have the latest COMDLG32.OCX in my winnt\system32 directory, but when I click (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Question on transparent printed parts

John: (...) I think Lars has modified l3p, so you can included a POV-Ray version of the part as comments in the DAT file. Something like "0 IFPOV/.../0 ELSEPOV/.../0 ENDPOV", but check Lars' latest l3p announcement. Play well, Jacob -- Where's that (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LCAD/LDraw.org Formal Organization

(...) Echoing and amplifying a bit on Tim's response: Forming an official ldraw.org, and adopting a licensing policy, and establishing a fully automatic Parts Tracker will all directly lead to more parts being authored. Heck, I'd be doing more parts (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Question on transparent printed parts

(...) Right now, there's nowhere to go with POV-Ray. Well, maybe you could donate them to Lutz Uhlman's LGEO parts library, maybe. What I'd like to see happen is for the permanent l-cad organization setup an LDraw-compatible library of POV-Ray (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  L3PAO small update available

Due to little bugs here and there, I've upped an incremental release of L3PAO 1.3 (1.3.24) It addresses the issues with the -cg switch not working correctly, the -f switch incorrectly setting its Y Axis to 0 and a few other things beneath the (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

New Part - 3900 Minifig Signal Holder  [DAT]

Here is a quick throw together for the Minifig Signal Holder. I did "cheat" some with a couple primitives. Let me know if I need to break them down and work on it more. The way it is, it should render quite nicely. Have fun! Paul (URL) (Main Ldraw (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
