  Re: New, Improved 30116.dat  [DAT]

(...) Have you tried clicking on the "[DAT]" in the heading? That's what I do. Then you download a .cgi file, which any .dat file editor can open. Then all you have to do is save the file to your parts directory (remember to change the name, though. (...) (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Does anyone have a shortcut for a completed palm tree?

One that is already pre-bent (like usually shown in LEGO sets) would be nice. thanks (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: *** The best LEGO CAD software ? ***

(...) All CAD authors read this group, so each one will probably post a message saying that their program is better, so there's no simple answer for the first question. Now for the second question: LeoCAD and all LDraw derived programs have the (...) (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: New Part: 973p105.dat Minifig Torso with Darth Vader pattern

(...) [snip] (...) Matt, It is the usual practice to _not_ hard-code the main color of a pattern. In other words, anything on the pattern that is actually the _plastic_ itself, and not paint, is supposed to be represented as color-code 16 (i.e., (...)   Re: *** The best LEGO CAD software ? ***

I'm a bit new to this myself, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. I recommend using MLCAD (on Windows) to actually edit the LEGO models. This is a very good editor, but it only has rudimentary display capabilities. Then, get L3P to convert the MLCAD (...) (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev)

*** The best LEGO CAD software ? ***

Hi all! I'm new on Lugnet so please be patient with me if this was yet mentioned. Can somebody tell me what's the best CAD software to create LEGO models on computer ?   Re: How do you break down an inserted shortcut?

(...) Got it! the line was not there. I have played with this quite a bit, so I'll try to explain what it did.
