Here's 30473, a variant of 6024, found in <set:4291>. I modified 6024 to remove the island, re-stud the road, and remove studs at raised corners. I like it. But there is a small problem with this file and the unpatterned bird. There are 2 lines that have a space between one number and the next (search for 3- to find them). This causes ldlite to give a syntax error and it causes ledit to give (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

ledit can sometimes generate runtime errors. the 2 that are most relevent are: runtime error 216 (out of memory I think). This error means that the model or part file that you are trying to load is too large. the other one you will encounter is (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Instead of developing a lock plate with a fixed width, why not create a 'bluff' plate--the equivalent of one of the proposed lock plates, but cut in half lengthwise.
