Re: Voting Open for LCAD Parts Update 2000-02

In lugnet.cad.dev, Steve Bliss writes: [snip] (...) O.K. Ornamented it will be then. By the way, Steve, Did you already notice that I've started to send "suggested update revisions" to your adress "partsref@worldnet.att.net" ? (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: cannot connect to site / lack of support from MediaOne.net - DAY THREE (KMM78820C0KM) [lego]

I have no idea if this is of any help but, I also use mediaone for web access and I can go to www.ldraw.org fine... I have no idea about all the proxy stuff so I cant help you there. HTH (...) [4.24.144.73] (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) [snip] (...) Didn't someone suggest using an anonymous proxy that might be located a few hops closer to ldraw.org? There's a list of proxy sites here: (URL) don't work. The proxy at webcache worked for me. YMMV... Or you could sample the free (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Macintosh Ldraw part files.

(...) What about lugnet.cad.windows and lugnet.cad.linux? (It's the other axis of the two-dimensional grid -- products on one axis and platforms on the other axis.) --Todd (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: More newbie questions

(...) Oh! I forgot to mention that, since my LDraw tools are in the PATH, I was able to omit path-names. That .reg file is pretty much as-is from my machine. (...) That would rock. Is there any way you could keep the tool list open, in case more pop (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Voting Open for LCAD Parts Update 2000-02

(...) Right. As I understand, this brick appeared with several different colors of printing, but always on the same color brick. This approach (hard-coding the brick color, but allowing the pattern color to 'float') has been done in a few other (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: modeling questions.

(...) That would be very cool, but MPD is not part of the LDraw standard definition, so (official) parts can't be written this way. Steve (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: More newbie questions

(...) I hacked around with this a bit. The necessity of having path-names really limits the usefulness of this kind of utility, unfortunately. Hmm, maybe I could build a Wise Install wizard, which 1. Allows the user to pick which file-types they (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: More newbie questions

(...) That's not my point - I was just saying you can put whatever (text) files you want into an MPD. That's very similar to a file directory, because there is not implied relation between the files in a directory (except that they're all in the (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

Stages, woo-hoo! (Was: The Artemis Project)

(...) The single greatest contribution (IMO) that the Artemis Project has to offer is the concept of Stages, its OO approach to model and submodel storage. Essentially, a model can be associated with a Stage or a set of attributes -- origin offset, (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.publish, lugnet.cad.dev)
