Comparing techniques (Error Diffusion Dithering) —Maarten Steurbaut
(...) Indeed, the more colours you use, the smoother the image will be. But not everybody has that many colours at his disposal. (...) Isn't that inside information of TLG? Where did you find this information? I contacted TLG about it, but never got (...) (20 years ago, 10-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Comparing techniques (Error Diffusion Dithering) —Steve Bliss
(...) Because nothing is truly without color; there are things darker than lego black. Also, using a slightly-less-than-t...ally-black shade allows outlines to be drawn with RGB(0,0,0) and still show up (at least, somewhat). And with shading (...)         Re: Comparing techniques (Error Diffusion Dithering) —Corey Sanders
(...) LOL, this is available at a dozen well-known LEGO websites including Peeron. Now you can add those RGBs to your 'program'. It seems silly to me to create a LEGO mosaic... using colors that are far from the colors of the corresponding LEGO (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

(...) Every website uses different RGB-values (I did too). So which one is EXACT? (Have you read the post on the HP night bus? Many shades of the same colour...)         Re: Comparing techniques (Error Diffusion Dithering) —Corey Sanders
(...) As I said before, that was 90% of the work... creating a palette of LEGO colors that were exact. A lot of trial-and-error was involved.
