(...) If you are really set on a single backboard, I would buy 4 thin sheets of 4 X 8 plywood. Lay 2 pieces side by side to form a 8 X 8 square. Lay the other 2 pieces on top, perpendicular to the first 2, and screw them together. Cut the joined (...) (22 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

<snip> Yes, 4 x 8 is the standard size for sheets of plywood. One alternative is to get (2) 4x8 sheets, and have them cut down to (2) 3x8 sheets. That would put only one seam...oh, wait..puts the seam in the wrong direction... ok, change that...get (...) (22 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

(...) Building an 8x6 panel would take a very simple amount of carpentry skills. 2 pieces of plywood and a border around it made from 1x2's or 1x4's would probably be nice and stable. A little cross bracing in the back for reinforcement and you're (...) (22 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

Nice work.
