  African American Minifigs

I think that Lego has slacked off a bit. I think that Lego should make some Black minifigs. African American. Light Brown Head thing. It would open up alot of stuff i.e. Adventurers Safari, MIB Lego Themes, Baseball etc. Tell me what you (...) (24 years ago, 4-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: African American Minifigs

Please let us not have this discussion again! There is one sort of LEGO people, and they are ALL yellow. Making more colours will only encourge difference. This way all LEGO people are equal. Casper. Mikohl Moree (The Lego Minifig Maniac) (...) (24 years ago, 4-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: African American Minifigs

(...) alot (...) Three words: Rickey Van Dyke. He's made one - and it rocks :) If ya don't know Rickey, he's from GMLTC and is the one who designs all the really awesome vehicles they have. He works for TLC (at Mall of America) and yes, he's African (...) (24 years ago, 4-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: African American Minifigs

(...) For what it's worth, I agree. I think that yellow is fine for representing lighter skinned races such as Caucasians and East Asians, but a bit of a stretch for darker-skinned races, such as South Asians, Africans, and Australian Aborigines. (...) (24 years ago, 4-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: African American Minifigs

(...) I think you finally hit the nail on the head; it's fine that they want to make everyone equal and the same (although in fact we are equal and different, but that's a different topic) but the choice of yellow lends itself better to some (...)   Re: African American Minifigs

(...) A generic Naboo soldier, which is exactly what TLC was trying to represent. Evidence: 1) Panaka wore an outfit with Blue sleeves, the minifig has tan/beige ones. 2) Panaka was not in the Flash Speeder during the assault on Theed Palace, he was (...)   Re: African American Minifigs

I think that the 'equality' comment was incorrect. Color is not what denotes equality. Having one 'color' would mean superiority of that color. equality means everything is equal DESPITE things such as race. To show real equality among LEGO models (...)   Re: African American Minifigs

I think Lego is just trying to cut corners and save money. They are aimed at the younger audience, and all they do is get their parents to buy the latest hyped up theme. I think it would be a good idea though to have "Dark Skin Toned" minifigs, (...) (24 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: African American Minifigs

(...) Well, I don't want to sound racist, but I think that if TLG played the race card, there would be major controversy, IMO. Anyways, back to your post (...) If we look at the original ideas, see (URL)Adventurers Safari, What is stopping TLG now (...) (24 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: African American Minifigs

If you are looking for an african american minifig and willing to settle for something non-lego Toys 'r' Us has a set manufactured by best blok (i think dont quote me on the name). It's a dump truck and comes with a dark skin toned minifig. (...) (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)
