I think that Lego should make some
Black minifigs. African American.

For what it's worth, I agree. I think that yellow is fine for representing
lighter skinned races such as Caucasians and East Asians, but a bit of a
stretch for darker-skinned races, such as South Asians, Africans, and
Australian Aborigines.
I think you finally hit the nail on the head; it's fine that they want to make
everyone equal and the same (although in fact we are equal and different, but
that's a different topic) but the choice of yellow lends itself better to some
ethnicities than others. When you look at the Flash Speeder, do you see a
yellow Panaka, or just generic Naboo Soldier?

I think they should do it like the Simpsons (and Futurama) where all lighter
skinned nationalities are yellow and and darker ones are brown. I think Apu
and Dr. Hibbler would've looked strange in yellow. What's really odd is Lego
once DID do red figs for Native Americans.

...
African, not African-American. I'd like to see a Lando Calrissian Star Wars
figure. His character is neither African nor American.

Josh
I'd love to see him too. I mean, if they can make Vader grey instead of
yellow, then why not? (probably because there's no grey skinned nationality.)
I hope if they ever get the Star Trek License as well (or any Sci Fi license
for that matter) that Orion's are green, Andorians are blue, Cylons are
chrome/silver, Shadows are black and G'Karr(or however you spell it) is
whatever colour you want to call that.

Otherwise, they're neutering the character aspects of the licenses they hold.

(...) A generic Naboo soldier, which is exactly what TLC was trying to represent. Evidence: 1) Panaka wore an outfit with Blue sleeves, the minifig has tan/beige ones. 2) Panaka was not in the Flash Speeder during the assault on Theed Palace, he was (...)
