Don, Take a look at my BS folder to see how I've used different tracks and wheels on different vehicles. Cross-posted from LEGO Military: I recently attended Brick World and I was really impressed with the city battle. There were many Mechs and AFV's. For some time I have been interested in doing AFV's. Various military forces converged on the Apocalyptic Mecha City Project (AMCP) display and duked it out street by street, cobblestone by cobblestone. There were many troops of (...) This could also be LEGO's way to slyly "ease" into a military theme. I wouldn't be surprized if they avoid using swastikas and the like, which is just as well perhaps. My two latest land vehicles have been built for a while, but are being lugnetted and Brickshelfed just in time for BrickWorld! Any mecha planning to skulk around the (...) (...) You are right. Moving the nose gear foward would have taken up too much room and not allowed enough room for a pilot in the cockpit. He's stuffed in there pretty good as it is. Douglas, Very nice, thanks for sharing! I especially really like your use of curved bricks on the top of the fuselage and the weapons under the wings. Unless you're building in a very large scale, LEGO can only approximate real life. Don't worry about it; the aircraft looks good. The wings interest me. Why are they studs down on the ends? (17 years ago, 13-Jun-07, to lugnet.build.military)

Here is a MOC inspired by the McDonnell-Douglas (now Boeing) F-4 Phantom. The MOC is mini-fig scale in that it can hold a fig. However, the actual scale is compressed to using the small wheels as engines and the technic-air scoop piece as intakes. (...)
