  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) Very impressive. The cockpit windows are very original, you really captured the color scheme and overall sleekness of the actual plane. The SNOT cockpit is very clever, too. One of these days I'm going to have to try my hand at making a WWII (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) you'v got me there. I checked out a number of the links you provided (thanks!), and yes, indeed they all prove my MOC correct. I guess I'll just have to post the reference I used.... or just forget about it, since I appear to have done right (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) I'm not sure what images you used as reference, but take a look at these: (URL) later variants of the Spitfire may have had the outward folding gear, but in all of the images I can find it features inward folding gear; exactly as you portrayed (...)   Re: spitfire MOC

In lugnet.build.military, Drew Lawrence writes: <snip> (...) thanks muchly! I appreciate you taking the time to re-visit. (...) Huh. Not according to the pics I saw (after the fact). They hinged just outside the wing guns, and folded in, not quite (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) Hey, thanks very much! Again, as far as studs-not-on-top goes, this is one of the sturdiest models I've made! I appreciate the comments, stuart (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

Not to get too off-topic, but.... (...) I don't quite know what to say except sorry-- I run Net 4.6 and it's okay, but Netscape 4.x is notoriously buggy.... (...) Well, I'll post to brickshelf and the site simultaneously from now on. (...) yeah, (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) Well, you can still finish yours, Geordan-- in fact, I encourage it-- I've got an idea on how to improve the cockpit in particular, but I'd like to see others. (...) Excellent! Thanks so much! (...) Yes, there's one on the same roll as the (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) Thanks for the praise. It comes well met, especially considering you know the pedigree better than I do. It was definitely a fun and relatively easy build, so expect more. stuart (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) Great spitfire! You nailed the elliptical wing, and I like your use of SNOIT and non-standard techniques. The windshield is good, too. George (23 years ago, 5-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

Gah! -Slams head on keyboard- You beat me to it! ARG! Mine is almost done, I have put it away though, I really haven't had the intrest in finishing it, I should get to work on it again. :-) I really like it Stuart! looks good, though not exact, it (...)   Re: spitfire MOC

Anyway, disclaimers aside, please let me know what you think. (...) Nicely done Supermarine Spitfire, particularly 4.4 stud wide cockpit, and the plates and tiles used to make the British aircraft insignea on the sides. Also nice job on recreating (...)   Re: New MOC: "Loiterer" Anti-Tank/Mecha Helicopter"

(...) Thanks Paul! (...) Yeah! I just went back and looked at your Kestrel again... And you're definitely correct; both models share similar traits. I always liked your Kestrel, looks sleek and has nice colours... ;-D BTW are you building anything (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New MOC: "Loiterer" Anti-Tank/Mecha Helicopter"

as usual, very slick, nice colors, score another point for mladen :-D it kinda reminds me of my kestrel only bigger and tougher and faster and well, nevermind :-) -paul (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) Netscape version 4.78. It sat there for a long time waiting for the .css file to load. I switched to IE and it loaded. As for the closeups I just hadn't waited long enough. If I let the window alone for several minutes it came to life. I think (...) (23 years ago, 5-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) Ahhhh. Thats nice. I REALLY like how you put the plates on either side of the cockpit - that really gives the effect of the narrow Spitfire cockpit. Niiiice. Mad props, my friend. (pasted from a different part of the thread) (...) You got it (...) (23 years ago, 5-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) thank you! (...) huh. The closeups show in popup windows-- if you have them surpressed, that could be why. As for Netscape.... what version do you use? I'll make changes when I move the site to a server THAT WORKS! In the meantime, see the (...) (23 years ago, 5-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

All right, just to make sure, please DON'T go to the brinkster site. Instead, go here: (URL) see the spitfire I made. >sigh< stuart (23 years ago, 5-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) Well, they actually fold the wrong way-- away from the fuselage, not toward. Neat way to use those (...) oh, yeah, Eric H is tops. In particular, the insignia feature was inspired by the numerals in his grandfather clock MOC. ( (URL) ) Thanks, (...) (23 years ago, 5-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) Well, there's lots of ref online, naturally, and the plane has undergone plenty of subtle changes over its years of service. Thanks for the kind words, though. It's actually remarkably sturdy for the amount of SNOT incorporated. stuart (23 years ago, 5-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: spitfire MOC

(...) oh, for gosh' sake. I moved my other site from Brinkster for this same reason, and I've had it. I took your advice and here's where you can see the dope: (URL) for letting me know, though. Much appreciated. stuart (23 years ago, 5-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)
