I told her this idea was silly. What I like most about micro-scale is how
free-form it is. To set measurements and scales and metric-system prefixes
to it would lessen the fun for me.

I agree. Down with compartmentalized dorkism! There was similar sillines
(IMO) in .space when people wanted to come up with standard rules for
defining different types of spaceships, ignoring the fact that these MOCs by
different builders were coming from completely different sci-fi universes
(some based on official sets, others on TV or movie inspirations, others
compltely from the builders heads).
IMO the only time to worry about agreed-upon scale is when people plan on
combining MOCs into some group display, like a moonbase, the ccc standard, or
some LTCs train layout.

Well my micro creations have varied from about 1:100 to 1:250 or less, so I
obviously think that the actual scale is fairly flexible. For instance, though I
know some will disagree, I think this comes within my notion of micro.
And I think different scales work well together, even in the same display.
Although train displays are called minifig scale there is much difference
between the actual scale of individual MOCs. So I think unless something looks
horrendously out of place, if it is significantly smaller than minifig scale,
it fits into micro scale.
Of course I havent even thought about nano and pico scale yet. LOL.
