Thanks! I'm pretty satisified with the end result - not bad for "my first
mecha-with-legs", at least. I've been looking at some of the excellent posable
skeletons on Brickshelf and that looks like a tempting direction to head in,
although it might involve sacrificing the pilot.

you did an excellent job on the anke joints which happen to be, in my
opinion, the most imporant part a model needs for posing.

They were certainly the hardest part to build, but the end result is pleasingly
non-technic. OK, the worms and beams are exposed, but the worm runs down the
back of the leg like an achilles tendon, which suits the kind of 'muscled' look
I was going for with the limbs.

i am totally floored with the "plug" cockpit idea!

I kind of wish I'd abandoned it because it would have made the construction and
posing a lot more pleasant. The cockpit itself was really easy to build, after
experimenting with different ways to hold a figure in a true cylindrical plug
(using the 4x4 endcaps and half cylinders. The current solution has a nice
straightforward tiles and bricks design, although you need to use SNOT to get
the end to be properly closed.

However, once I'd got the cockpit and pelvis I was kind of stuck in one
particular course of building. I think it was a blessing and a curse really.

Thanks for the comments,

Will
