Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts —Borislav Marinov
(...) 1. Hmm... It's probably a good thing I din't catch that. I just made a little experiment on my mother. I showed her a military space ship and a military mech and her responce was that the mech was simply too good and it was too obvious that it (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts —Sun Yun
(...) This actually makes me very sad. I've noticed a couple people mention that they won't be building mecha anymore and that is a great loss to the build.mecha community. When I see something "awe-inspiring", i take in as much of the "awe" I can (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts —Mike Petrucelli
(...) Now this is completly subjective and open to debate. I personally build what most people consider "cute" and/or "little" fighters. To me they are able to kill almost any other fighter or mech(a) with one shot. Hey my "Empire" the Galactic (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) You know? I really like that...kinda' covers all the bases no matter which side of the name argument one favors. Matt (22 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) :-) Thats why I wrote it that way. Seriously though I hope no one took my "Real World Viability" rant to mean I did not like all the cool mech(a)s models that get shown here. (Then again I like all the trains and castles too.) -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts —Borislav Marinov
(...) Now that I think of it, you have a good point there. In my pure space days there was nothing in the world that could have convinced me that a Gundam could take down a Star Destroyer for example, and there is nothing now that can convince me (...)          Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts —Mike Petrucelli
(...) See to me that sounds like, well this tank can take out that battleship/aircraft carrier. Granted there are a handful of extremely unlikely situations where that could happen. But certainly not in normal combat situations. I wonder, in your (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts —Mladen Pejic
(...) Well, you can't say that is 100% true. How about countermeasures which a tank can employ to block the targeting mechanism of the missile? For example, the Russian T-90 has a whole bunch of things that allow it to survive. First off, and this (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts —Mike Petrucelli
(...) in (...) than (...) shot. (...) Well my underlying point was that a Tank is part of a well rounded military. If one relys only on Tanks, one lose rather quickly. Same with Mech(a)s. (...) No Tanks are definately not obsolete. (...) Over (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
