Worm gear driven turntable —Christopher Snead
So I've been working on various wormgear combinations over the past week or so, and I came up with something that might be of use to folks: (URL) like the technic geared turntables, but they are a bit big. So I thought it would be nice to have a (...) (19 years ago, 10-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha) !

Re: Worm gear driven turntable —Christopher Snead
(...) The frame is, for the time being, only half done. I was somewhat inspired by your "goliath" to try to make a small worm gear driven frame. It really is quite a rewarding challenge to build with worm gears, and I think the time is ripe for an (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Worm gear driven turntable —Mitchell Lichtenberg
(...) Great Job! But I had trouble with the top. There appear to be four 4 x 4 plates that fit over the small turntable and are wedged against the axle so as to form a surface that spins with the axle. When I try this, the plates do not fit. Are (...) (19 years ago, 11-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) I think it's actually a 2x2 round plate in the center, with four 2x2 corner plates surrounding it. It's a bit hard to tell from the photo though. -Elroy (19 years ago, 11-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Worm gear driven turntable —Brian Pilati
(...) I'm not sure how he did the 4x4 plate either, unless he drilled it. I made this turntable and used a 2x2 round plate. Worked like a charm. -Brian (19 years ago, 11-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Worm gear driven turntable —Christopher Snead
(...) There is a 2x2 round plate in the center, surrounded by the 2x2 plates with a corner missing. Chris Thanks (19 years ago, 11-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Ah, yes ... now I can see the spaces in between the bricks. In the future, I would ask that you use a different color than black for your examples. I love to mimic your work but black is so hard to photograph and see the details on the web. (...) (19 years ago, 11-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)
