My first mecha: Proto-1 —Matthew Evans
My first post here so I'd better introduce myself... My name is Matthew but almost everyone knows me as 'mo'. I live in the UK. I'm new to the AFOL scene; I played with lego (Space - then Technic) loads as a kid but stopped as adolesence brought (...) (19 years ago, 19-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha) !

(...) Welcome to .mecha Matthew. (...) Quite impressive for a first one. I like the poseability. It seems to me you had real fun doing those poses for the pics. (...) I'm not bothered by the color scheme. The colores fit together quite well. The (...) (19 years ago, 19-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Well hello, and welcome! I was looking at this on Brickshelf the other day. You have some good ideas there. What sorts of projects do you have in mind next? Thanks for sharring and again, welcome. e (19 years ago, 20-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My first mecha: Proto-1 —Matthew Evans
(...) Well: I want to build a mecha with waaayy huge legs. I mean, big. I can't really explain well, I'm not great at passing on ideas without copious use of body language, but you'll see. Eventually. I also want to build a yellow and dark pink (...) (19 years ago, 20-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My first mecha: Proto-1 —Timothy Gould
(...) I actually really, really like the fat legs. It reminds me a little of the Metropolis anime and some early anime stuff like Astroboy (Atom). Lovely retro feel to it. I think an extra plate thickness for the arms would add to this effect (...) (19 years ago, 20-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My first mecha: Proto-1 —Mladen Pejic
(...) Wow, for a first mecha this is excellent! I think you go the basics of mecha building down pretty solid, the next thing you should work on is giving them a certain "feel" or personality. For example, I don't know whether this is a whacky (...) (19 years ago, 20-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: My first mecha: Proto-1 —Soren Roberts
Nifty. I can tell it's pretty playable - always good, and I like the range of motion in the legs. You don't mind my asking, what are your influences? Soren (19 years ago, 20-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) No recommendations. It looks like you're doing just fine. I just wanted to welcome you to the .mecha forum. I'm not around much but I do keep track of who's building what. On the critique note I LOVE the clean retro look. Plus is makes your (...) (19 years ago, 21-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My first mecha: Proto-1 —David Rabadan
(...) I am always glad to see a new Mecha build member. Welcome! I would like to see some more MOCS to see what you are going for before I make any coments. Regardless, I do like the poseability and the color scheme. Regards, David Rabadan (19 years ago, 21-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: My first mecha: Proto-1 —Dave Johann
I just had to log in and post since NOT posting would have been a crime. :) Excellent first model, Mo! I see LOTS of mobility there, and quite a few modern and not so modern influences in the design. I'll agree that the colorscheme is a bit iffy, (...)         Re: My first mecha: Proto-1 —danny staple
Hi Mo, Nice mecha. The bubble head thing is very retro sci-fi, yet the body style is quite modern mecha. Its an odd mix. It puts me in mind of robbie spliced with an angular anime mecha body. I really like the body style, very posable, and well (...) (19 years ago, 22-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
