My first post here so Id better introduce myself...
My name is Matthew but almost everyone knows me as mo. I live in the UK.
Im new to the AFOL scene; I played with lego (Space - then Technic) loads
as a kid but stopped as adolesence brought other diversions ;). Recently was
pointed in the direction of Sun Yuns website FoundryDX and impressed and
inspired enough to start playing again! Anyway, to business - the first
result:
Brickshelf folder:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=154373 --
The colour scheme is a little offensive, what with grey ~and~ bley, but my
brick selection is limited (growing though!). Lots of ball joints, brick
hinges for knees and click hinges for elbows. What dyou think? Any
recommendations? Thanks!

Wow, for a first mecha this is excellent!
I think you go the basics of mecha building down pretty solid, the next thing
you should work on is giving them a certain feel or personality. For example,
I dont know whether this is a whacky microfig-scale old-school anime bot, or
some kind of minifig-scale autonomous mecha. Definitely explore as many colour
schemes as your collection can allow, and try making each mecha unique in some
way.
Again, well done and good luck with future creations.
