  Horodris the mech

(URL) Dis here is Horodris. Treat him real nice and he'll do the same. Some points of notes: I made the neck move on all three axis, if the head looks funny, it probably because it is at a strange angle. mucho gearing in the legs. This is what is (...)   Re: Horodris the mech

(...) It's a good mech (if it weren't for the legs, I would be forced to call this one "mecha"). I like how clean it looks - very nice indeed. I like the hands; many have used those joints before, but it looks like you put a lot of time in to the (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

I really like the leg design and gearing. Gears are like muscles for mecha. The more gears, the more powerful the machine (appears to be). The spindly arms could use a gear infusion to beef them up... But I know you haven't made a lot of armed (...) (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) I like that gear-ratio reduction assembly to reduce the stress on the worm gear--tricky! Out of curiosity, what's the total worm-gear count? (...) Unequal length fingers, rotating thumb, the hand flattens out, sweet! (...) The black shoulder (...) (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) Hey Mark, I did a Google search and I found that Te Horo is the name of a beach on New Zealand and DRIs is the Dietary Recommended Intake. Sooo...this beast was obviously created to search the beaches of Te Horo to take the DRIs of unsupecting (...) (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) That goat critter was Pan. The hand did go through about five rebuilds for this mech and was the origional inspiration for this mech. (repositioned fingers, shortened overall hand, wrist redesign) I started by fooling with hand designs and (...) (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) Ah-ha! Hear that Sophie! You're going down, buddy! I got that supply of left monkey arms coming in from BL, you best be sweating bullets now. Thanks for the commentary on the arms. I was looking at that and the shoulder had to go through a (...) (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) Worm gear count is eight. three in each leg, and one in each shoulder. The rest are mostly the new rotational click hinge. (...) I may be taking some more pics here, for my b-day I got a photography screen! No more taping the white sheets of (...) (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) Ha! Ok, that is kind of scarier knowing the orgin of that. Ouch. I managed to find in a Ukrainian dictionary that Horod is a kind of battlement on a hill. But nothing on Ris. Probably means light. Therefore the staff'd be a stoplight and (...) (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) Oooooo-tay. (...) Strange is good as it is beautiful. (...) Heck ya! That rocks! I asked Peter Jennings and he said it was the biggity bomb bad too! (...) drool. (...) Sweet, That pair of hands helps add to the synergy of the Mech. You could (...) (20 years ago, 28-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
