Jason... Firstly, thanks for the compliments, but they are unecessary. :-)
|
au contraire, mon capitan! compliments are definately in order...you are
about half my age and your skill is twice that of mine. i am humble to say
the least.
|
:-)
|
|
Secondly, this multiped mecha seriously pwns (meh I play too many FPS
shooters).
|
i play fps shooters as well, but i have no idea what pwns means. please fill
me in.
|
Heh... Well the story goes that some dudes were playing Quake and accidentally
typed pwned, when they wanted to say owned, as in I owned (bested) you!
BTW, I play:
I wanted to get XIII and Call of Duty, but I hear the multiplayer aspects
for each is lacking (i.e. sucks). I think Ill just stick to mods for now,
before investing in original FPS. The demos for XIII and CoD were enough for me.
:-)
As for singleplayer... well I got bored of Medal of Honour: Allied Assault
like half-way through, but it was still one of the best single-players FPS ever.
Anyways... heres looking forward to Half-life 2!

Aside from being a homage to my work, what really struck me as great about
this MOC is how so much of your style infiltrated into it. Its a
wonderful, and very original (IMHO) piece of work.
|
come to think of it, it does reflect my style. it uses the same chain gun and
rockets on my rotgeist.
|
Yep.
|
|
Now lets get on to what rules:
1) The weapons are beautiful. From the multi-barreled rotary guns to the
copious missiles, its apparent this mecha is ready for some serious combat.
The anti-personnel machine guns fore and aft are nice too.
|
got the anti-personnel guns idea from you, sport!
|
2) The central ladder, cockpit, and engine compartment add a flair of realism
to this already quite reasonably thought out model.
3) My personal favourite---> the sensors on the top! Yeah the black head is
nice, but the IR-illuminator / searchlight below, harkens back to the old
days of military hardware (WWII they were conceived, 1950s/60s they were
commonplace on tanks). Very cool.
|
again, a tribute to your sensor pods.
|
Heh, thanks.
|
|
My only suggestion is quite simple: angle the legs steeper, so as to make the
mecha taller and thus more menacing.
|
it originally started off that way, but i decided to make it lower to the
ground thus making it more stable (lower center of gravity)
|
Ah, I get it.
|
|
Anyways, youve really impressed me with this model. I just love how you took
the multiped mecha concept, and grafted your own ideas onto it. The result is
a fully realized mecha that works largely due to good design and absence of
greebles (which is just chaff after all).
|
wow! i thought the lack of greebles made it too plain-looking. thats what i
like most about your tanks--the details make it more realistic.
|
Yeah, but I guess its all a matter of taste. When I first started builded I
worried a lot about making my stuff very cool, and fancy, but now Im beginning
to look at my models more critically. I want my stuff to look functional, and
robust, not just littered with useless greebles.
