Re: Who's up for mech building?

(...) I don't usually build this type, but I'll have to try these bad @$$ legs out. Thanks for the inspiration Mark! (...) (Vrreeeeee... CLANG! Vrreeeeee... CLANG!) Take care, Soren (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general)

  Hotshots...

Hey all- I'd like to announce the first wave of HOTSHOTS, my newest brainstorm. Before you begin the drool and stare cycle, be warned these are basically recycled mech designs that have been...coolified... Begin the Drool and Stare cycle! Mech Name: (...)   Re: PA004 Prototype

(...) Hello Adrian. Thanks; I said the same thing to myself when I first saw the use of them. This really solved a lot of issues for me. I could not make the suit small enough and keep it from looking.... hmmm...stubby. With this tech I get (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Grease Monkey

(...) Mark - This is great! I like... everything about it. :) The shape is certainly reflective of its name -- short, stocky and powerful like a gorilla, etc. Is that a cutting/welding torch stowed on the left shoulder? Great use of the Technic (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Grease Monkey

talk about a workhorse! that brute looks like it can do the job and then some! nice change of pace, too--no weapons. i really like the color scheme (red and greay, like my new one) and the reverse knee look: it seems that's what many mech-ers are (...)   Grease Monkey

Here's that mech that I made with the new leg design, Grease Monkey. (URL) Monkey is a working mech. He drags stuff around, loads ammo, does repairs, helps build structures, things like that. Makes working around mechs possible! I figured I better (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

In lugnet.build.mecha, Joel Jacobsen writes: <snipped> (...) I just realized it was William Toenjes that should be credited for the blasters. Posting at midnight is bad for the memory I guess. And spelling too, it seems. Sorry William! Joel L (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

In lugnet.build.mecha, David Rabadan writes: <snipped> (...) Thanks David. I may actually go back and create the whole BGC team. I've been a Sonoda fan for years. I love his style, but I'll disgress before I get too off topic.:) Thanks again. Joel J (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Power Armor

(...) Hey Joel. I think these are great! I am a big fan of BubbleGum Crisis so I really enjoy these. Later. (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: PA004 Prototype

(...) What's up E? I agree, I am finding that minifig parts get a lot of usage, more so for small scale buiding. Later. (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: PA004 Prototype

(...) Yo TK! What's cooking? I tell you, using MLcad helps a lot. I don't have a lot of parts with the same colors so I try to build MOCs both with parts I do have and MLcad. (...) Oh I plan to. These are some of my projects...if I have the time :( (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Another Transformer - Trixie

Jeremiah- Hi. When I saw Bitstream I was amazed! (Wasn't posting yet.) As Bruce said, your Transformers are outstanding! I had seen some sculptural and robot-mode renditions before but creations like yours are rare. Well I was perusing .Mecha and I (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Power Armor

I've been playing with power armor ideas for a week or so. What started out as a tongue in cheek attempt at making armor something akin to Bubblegum Crisis, turned into creating a full squad of armored troops. Clearly there are similarities to (...)   Microscale MadCat

I guess it took the creation of a new group to inspire me to emerge from months of lurking and more than a year since sharing anything I've built to post some of my more recent creations. My most recent to be exact - started and finished tonight. (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general, lugnet.space)

Re: Who's up for mech building?

(...) Mark, Hi. You have an interesting design here. I like the wider structure of the ankle in relation to that "tendon." I think those legs fit your example quite well! ;-) Looking forward to more pics and will hopefully be able to scrounge up the (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) Hmmm...I agree with most other replies, but my creative process really takes off when I follow this pattern... --I'm not inspired by Japanese Cartoons, though they ARE cool... --I'm not a huge fan of "forward" knees (like on a human), unless (...)   Re: Mecha - What do you need?

Plate Click Hinge, strong, very attachable, very hidable, hole in center good! Technic arm joint (super battle droid, UCS Naboo fighter stand) Also good, not as strong, axle hole and shape of core make a little awkward to use. Liking the plates with (...) (...) 1- Music....Soft rock for medium-sized mechs, hard for the big boyz, rap for the lights, techno works for heavy/medium :<P 2- An overcast day always seems to make me way more creative.   Re: PA004 Prototype

(...) That's some slick mini-hinge work. I love the hands-as-hip-joints, that's really quite clever. Wish I'd thought of it :) Adrian -- (URL) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
