Hey all-

I'd like to announce the first wave of HOTSHOTS, my newest brainstorm.
Before you begin the drool and stare cycle, be warned these are basically
recycled mech designs that have been...coolified...  Begin the Drool and
Stare cycle!

Mech Name: WSP-10b 'Wasp'
Class: Light brawler (20 tons)
Armor Grade: Light
Weapons: 1 Quad Small-Pulse-Laser (SPLAS-4), 1 Short-Range missile launcher
two tubes (SRM-2)
Sensors: ACE advanced radar system, Huntertek laser sight (for SPLAS-4)
Details:

The WSP-10b Wasp is a great mech for heavy urban environments, as it is
small enough to maneuver easily through many places too small for standard
mechs.  Designed as a sentry mech, made for garrisons, the Wasp has proved
to be a formidable scrapper.  The 10b variant totes the highly-touted
SPLAS-4 laser system, which is rumored to be able to reduce 4-gauge
plexisteel armor to sludge in less than 60 seconds.

Mech Name: URB-01a
Class: Light Brawler (30 tons)
Armor Grade: Medium
Weapons: 2 Medium Lasers (MLAS), 1 ACE ballistics AutoCannon-5 (AC-5)
Sensors: ACE advanced radar system, Huntertek advanced target acquisition
autocannon system (ATAAS)
Details:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=36989
The URB-01a is the standard urban environment mech currently.  It is
used extensively by all major factons, and even most minor factions can
field a good amount of these.  Commonly respected for it's prowess in urban
environments, it is unviversally restricted to these roles because of it's
inability in other areas.  It's astonishingly large armor rating is one of
the Urbanmech's biggest assets.  The 01a's AC-5 is feared because of it's
incredible knockdown capacity in close fighting zones.

Like I said, these are recycled variants of my mechs.  I wanted desperately
to do a Wasp (credit to Ron Perovich for basic structure, modified heavily
in some places by me) and really thought my Urbie could use a makeover.  So
there you go.  My apologies for the Wasp's dark pictures, I had no idea they
were THAT bad.  Nutsy, but it is too late for me to re-do them now for a
bit, as I have more cool mechs to re-release, or just release....

Ryan! I always like the stuff you come up with. Your designs look great. Your renditions of Classic Mech designs are right on target. Your Brickshelf Gallery is the bomb. Your site is cool too, lots of stuff to read and lot's of stories and history. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
