Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Or better yet, just a lot more of these burning and ravaging and warring for the glory of the Jade Empire. :) --Ryan W. (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Gundam-K6

Here she is. My first attempt at a Gundam. (URL) I'm not completely happy with it yet. The arms look like they were thrown together in 15 minutes......which they were. It is also nearly impossible to get the thing to stand up. The ankles are pretty (...) (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) SNIP (...) SNIP (...) VERY cool! The dino tails work great in defining the 'roll cage' cockpit look, & it's nice & heavy duty. The colors & pieces work great with the overall form. It should get the .mecha community rolling, and enemy heads (...) (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Mecha under construction: Make-a-Mecha 1-2-3-4

(...) Actually, think more large bipedal marsupial. (...) Cool. I'm working to a deadline on this one. It's gonna be for the Breathe Life Into .loc.au competition which closes this weekend, so I'd better get a wriggle-on. Allister (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: when the parts are greater then the whole...

(...) I've found the best method of stiffening ball joints is to insert a small piece of paper between the ball and the socket. Fit it snugly in the socket, then snap the ball in otherwise it tears. For extra stiffness use a double or even triple (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Really, really well proportioned. Like it works out six hours a day. Well done! Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: when the parts are greater then the whole...

SoS, i've tried every thing, ball joints aren't strong enough, click hinges are too clunky...i'm at my wits end.....and the shoulders i'm using right now only stay put because they have jolly rancher squares wrappers in them to stiffen them up...   Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

Satyr. Thats one cool looking, and might I add very original mech! I love the legs and feet, very insectoid in form, nice colour too. The overall design is great, it has some lovely style points, the legsfeet, the shoulders look great, but I would (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

The Braintrust builds one for the Eastern Block.

As promised, I am announcing more new stuff from the Braintrust. This one's built with the intent to sell it to the Eastern Block. It's a battle support mech, with a capacity of 48 missiles, and two gatling guns. (URL) CBT-EB> I didn't have enough (...)   Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Thanks Dave. This one was all about working within my JE-usable pieces. After I got the cockpit figured out, the shoulders followed, then the rest just fell into place. It'd be sweet to see different versions of this one in different color (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: when the parts are greater then the whole...

In lugnet.build.mecha, The Sultan of Stack asks: Jacob, what sorts of peices are you or will you be using? My first suggestion is to make the hips almost the same as the shoulders. I'll see if I can find some. But I really don't have smallish size (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Mecha under construction: Make-a-Mecha 1-2-3-4

(...) Wow an actual reply! (...) Oh wow, I really like that head! Mate, you gotta keep building this one! Yummy Quadra-ped goodness. You have a great looking start, keep going! I'm working on the legs today. e (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

when the parts are greater then the whole...

if it wouldn't be too much to ask, would anyone permit a glimpse at the workings f your mecha's hips? i can make decent looking legs, and even better looking torsos (all mid sized), but it's the connection of the two are freakishly hard to make for (...)   Re: Mecha under construction: Make-a-Mecha 1-2-3-4

(...) Well, I don't build as fast as you, but I'll give it a go. (...) I got mine right on the first go. Nyah! ;) (...) I used a Bohrok limb with a double folded piece of paper in the socket for stiffness. pics. (2 URLs) That's as far as I got (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: More from the braintrust.

(...) Nicely done, Dan. I like the slopes for legs idea and am particularly fond of the idea of a ladybug mecha sometime in the future. Keep up the great work and thanks for xposting this. -Dave (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) Good idea! We like people who post creations rather than just critiquing the creations of others (points giant foam finger at self) (...) I love this gun! I'm not too big on weaponry, but this had me staring at it for a couple of minutes. :) (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

Chris, I've got to chime in to say this might be my favorite design by you. The colors and design on the Shen Kai Powersuit are flawless and I love that you built it within theme colors. The design is stron enough to cross into other themes as (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: My latest effort...Needs critique\ideas

Okay, Jas! You ask and we deliver. The good: I adore the legs up until mid-thigh, then it seems a bit thin too me. Perhaps it's just the angle of the pic...I'm not certain about that. The gun seems to be fine, but the angle makes it tough to tell. I (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
