  Re: Old Macross Mech

(...) Thank you very much for the praise Jeremy. I'm glad you enjoyed it. (24 years ago, 24-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Tired of click hinges - use technic pins with friction

(...) Use bits of LEGO paper (ie, the backing paper from stickers) instead of plastic wrap. This will give you a slightly stronger claim to 'LEGO purity'. Steve (24 years ago, 24-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  RE: Website announcement and update

Hey, those "Striders" are really cool-looking. They remind me of the "Emancipator" Herculans from Dynamix's Starsiege game. Same torso, only the Emancipator's pods were above and below the cockpit instead of the sides. (24 years ago, 24-Jul-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Sith Infiltrator 7151 Alternative Model

Even better! Thanks again dude =) (24 years ago, 24-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Mecha Legs

(...) Well said. But I'd like to voice a different opinion on the whole issue. This whole thread originated when Mladen offered a sneak peak at his current mecha project, and Rob asked Mladen if he could use "a scaled down version of those legs" in (...)   Re: Sith Infiltrator 7151 Alternative Model

(...) As long as your CD-ROM drive can handle PhotoCDs (and most made after 1991 can), it doesn't matter whether you have a PC or a Mac. PhotoCD is its own standard, sort of like web graphics. best LFB (24 years ago, 23-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Sith Infiltrator 7151 Alternative Model

Great! Thanks for the tip...I just hope they can store the picture in a MAC compatible format. I'm sure there are ways, I'll let everyone know how it worked out. I just gotta get my Imperial Shuttle on the site. Peace, ou (24 years ago, 23-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: transforming mecha

(...) Yes indeed, infact i while back i had some designs for an computer piloted fight jet/ mech itwas a cool design until i lost em all, too bad huh? anyone want a banner thing, its pretty cool...   Re: transforming mecha

(...) Hmm... interesting. The Vehicles are rather pretty, but the robot modes look kind of chunky and unposeable. I'm sort of picky in that I require my creations to be capable of moving at least their arms and holding a weapon. The Jetfire is very (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: transforming mecha

(...) Sure: (URL) first 3 form Trypticon. (...) Me and my cousin actually: he was determined to learn the exact sequence needed. (...) Oh, right! sorry ;) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Tired of click hinges - use technic pins with friction

(...) Well, if you want to remain a purist, then you're welcome to keep having floppy limbs. ;^) I choose to make some concessions to necessity for the sake of being able to build larger mecha. Happy Building. ~Mark (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Sith Infiltrator 7151 Alternative Model

Just use a regular camera and then go to the store where you get your film developed and ask them to put it on a PhotoCD. Then you'll have images you can use and they'll be nice and archived as well. Cheers, ~Mark (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: transforming mecha

(...) Hrm... link? I've been there before, but I don't recall such a thing. I'm sure I'd remember it if I had seen it. Darn. (...) That's sort of how my Pandora was. It was farily sturdy in either mode, but no one but me could handle it. :^P (...) (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Sith Infiltrator 7151 Alternative Model

Thanks Matt! I don't know too much about digital camera's or really where you could borrow them since I don't use them myself, I use LDRAW and MLCAD which, escpecially the latter, are like CAD programs and let you construct your model on your (...)   Re: Sith Infiltrator 7151 Alternative Model

Hey Mladen, pretty neat mech! I knew all those Infiltrator parts were good for something! I just finished a "UCS" Imperial Shuttle, and I'm very proud of it. The problem is, I don't have a digital camera. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: transforming mecha

(...) I've just started gathering and trading parts to attempt one (Thanks, Mike Fetsko!)... but don't hold your breath, as I'm only just still gathering parts for it so it's a long while off. Having said that, other people have definitely tried (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Website announcement and update

Hi Tony! I must say, you have some of the more creative things I've seen that seem to remain "on the edges" of Classic Space. Excellent Stuff! And I love the sense of humor with the repair droids. ;^) ~Mark (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Tired of click hinges - use technic pins with friction

Here's a little secret: Put a small, narrow strip of Saran Wrap around each end of the black friction pin. It'll work wonders for your mecha. You'll find that they can support much more weight this way. Enjoy. ~Mark (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: transforming mecha

Ah the ever popular "gestalt" transformer. I've thought about it, but I haven't attempted in recent times. Perhaps I should.... hmmmm. Transforming Lego models are problematic in and of themselves simply because they tend to become rather fragile. (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
