(...) What an enjoyable experience this exhibit was: (URL) Lot's of people building and great weather. Good food and lots of questions. Good show for the Bio Bricks family. e (20 years ago, 20-Apr-04, to lugnet.events, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: First MOC post--minifig scale dropship

Hey Kyle, I like your take on a mecha dropship, I think its an area that hasn't been explored enough, and it combines .mecha and .space nicely...like peanutbutter and chocolate. While I agree with whoever said that its a bit unrefined (ie. might (...) (20 years ago, 20-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  IP2002 quad cannon flyer

I have emerged from deep hibernation from LEGO and whipped out a few new MOCs... IP2002 Quad cannon flyer (URL) Think of it as a sort of helicopter, but without the rotor. Built for hovering around and blasting stuff to pieces. (3 URLs) The last (...) (20 years ago, 20-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

Re: First MOC post--minifig scale dropship

(...) Glad you liked it! It is big, about 115 studs long by 40 wide by 42 high. I plan on a re-design someday with some styling improvements, but I thought I should document the original in case the redesign doesn't turn out. (20 years ago, 20-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: First MOC post--minifig scale dropship

(...) Praise from the "Master of Mecha"? Awesome! (...) You're not kidding when you say "years worth". I still remember the "Galaxy Explorer" (497) I got in 1979 as my best Christmas present ever. (...) I'm planning a re-design (someday) with some (...) (20 years ago, 20-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: First MOC post--minifig scale dropship

(...) Nice ship, way bigger than I thought at first glace. Impressive. I really like the engine area. The mecha are also very nice. I don't like the sides as much: I like using plates as walls myself, and I also actually like some bare surfaces, but (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: First MOC post--minifig scale dropship

(...) WOW! Kyle you rock! I can definitely see years worth of LEGO spaceship and mecha design theory in this masterpiece. The ship is just plain awesome. Although it is a *bit* unrefined, I see great potential for future designs based on it. The (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: First MOC post--minifig scale dropship

(...) Thanks for the warm welcome, Frank. I love the "Judge" (URL), and you set the standard for hand-held mech weapons. I'll post some individual Mech photos before long. Glad you liked it! I can't remember seeing anyone else use the technic (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: First MOC post--minifig scale dropship

(...) I've always wanted to build a mechwarrior-style dropship, the were always the coolest :D VERY nice engines, the xpod tops and even the lt grey barrels are very nice touches! I also like the blue missle packs on the front of the ship, very evil (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  First MOC post--minifig scale dropship

I've been seeing great mecha MOCs on the internet for years (starting with Marsbase and Pallas Spaceworks) and I've finally got some pics of my own to post. This is my big dropship: (URL) I took inspiration from the Talon dropship of the Mechwarrior (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  New mecha: The Ogre

Well, I'm back again and with a new mecha, the ogre. It started as a study to try and make a mecha that could hold rifles like a human would. I began by building an arm.I tried to give good shoulder mobility, as well as tons of elbow twist range. (...) (20 years ago, 18-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

In lugnet.build.mecha, Leonard Hoffman wrote: SNIP (...) thanks, I've also been thinking about the thumbnail idea lately after viewing the 'preview' screens b4 final posting on my last couple 'MOC en masse' posts, but havn't tried it yet. i'll try (...)   Warrior Bots

(URL) These Bots kick @$$ - your @$$ in fact. And they date your wife because you are such a wimp. Yeah, Keith Goldman, I'm talking about you! Ha! What are you gonna do about it? Huh? Huh? Nothing.   Re: lotsa new (microscale) MOCs

(...) (5 URLs) Jeff, these all are very creative. The tanker truck and the dump truck look very realistic - very faithful microscale reproductions. The Coupe is also very nice. The Star Trek ship and the Frieghter are my favorites tho. The Frieghter (...) (20 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.space, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: zemi.net

(...) I think that's where it went wrong. ALL the pictures I have looked at were wider than high, so all the thumbs are compressed sideways. Once you've noticed it, it's almost impossible to ignore... (...) noticeable? As I noticed it at once, yes, (...) (20 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: zemi.net

(...) Well sure... the distortion mostly isn't noticeable. If you can't tell what the pictures are showing, then what does it matter that they're horizontally squeezed? Many of your thumbs are not very helpful at actually determining what they take (...) (20 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: zemi.net

(...) Most images are centered enough that cropping an eighth off either side won't clip a significant part of the picture. You could also do more abstract thumbs that use only a small portion of the image, but then you would need some descriptions (...)   lotsa new (microscale) MOCs

I did these over the past few days: I made 5 MOCs simultaneously using all the pieces in set 4096 Micro Wheels: 1st, a tanker truck: (6 URLs) I was going to stop there, but wanted to make another MOC & this sport coupe is the result: (5 URLs) after (...)   Re: zemi.net

(...) Site looks great - nice job by Kyle and yourself. Good to finally have a solid face for an seemingly ever-changing site. :-) Side note: Looking thru all the contest entries was tre cool.   Re: zemi.net

(...) Well, that's because that is exactly what we did. Jon wanted small, square thumbs. Since they were so small we figured the distortion wouldn't be that bad, compared to simply clipping the image. (This is all automatic of course. So cropping on (...)
