Well, I'm back again and with a new mecha, the ogre. It started as a study to
try and make a mecha that could hold rifles like a human would. I began by
building an arm.I tried to give good shoulder mobility, as well as tons of elbow
twist range. But the main thing i wanted to do was give the wrist mobility.
Because of the smaller nature of the mecha i couldnt use a conventional hand
design, so i made a new one using one of those 1x2 slanted bar brick things.
When i finished it, however, i left on vacation, and couldnt complete the model.
After i returned i managed to find a nice torso design to fit the arm to. The
torso is kind of stange, because of the slant that i built it on. I feel it
gives the mecha a more lean and tough look. I also did something i don't
normally do with my mecha, i added detail to the cockpit with moniters and
levers! The head is also a hybrid of two previous head designs i used before.I
chose the orange highlight colors because i had plenty of orange slopes, and not
enough grays :).
After i completed the torso, i was completely puzzled on a leg design. It took
me a few days, and many failed attempts, to come up with a decent shape. The
legs themselves are based off of an armored core design (as the whole mecha is
pretty much)
To finish off the model i built two weapons. An assault rifle similar to an m16
and a basic submachine gun, with an actual working rectractable stock! Here are
some deeplinks, PLMKWYT!
