Proposal: a TOWN building contest! —Kevin Wilson
In the spirit of the recent Classic Space building contest, I'm proposing (and am willing to organise) a building contest for us TOWN junkies. I have some ideas of how we can do it (and I've set up a placeholder page on LUGNET for it, same as Todd (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

(...) Poor timing for me since in your time frame my church will use up most of my pieces. I intend to enter it, though, in the obscene-number-of-pieces category :-) (...) Consistency would be great. I vote for minifig. (...) Keep the number of (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.town)

(...) I was thinking about this the other day. I guess that if you built a military base or academy in your town, it would fit into and compete in a category with the "civilian" structures. After all, the base employees live and work in your town (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.town)

(...) Scale should not be a criteria with structures. Think about it...most people build town models to minifig scale already but what about the few who don't. Do we exclude them or create categories especially for these other scales, knowing that (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.town)

How about just 3 catagories: ~100 pieces ~1000 Pieces ~unlimited So, you would have vehicles in the ~100 piece catagory, along with parks, park benches, and other neat (small) things. Smaller houses/buildings would fall into the ~1000 piece (...) (24 years ago, 1-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

TOWN building contest - categories —Kevin Wilson
Well, I've read all the discussion of what to include as categories and I'm going to take a stab at a resulting list.
