(...) The capital is the top of the column. It looks kind of like a bracket where 1x2 plate has two side thingies offset at an angle, plus round plates on those.. never used it before, I'm guessing at what I'm seeing there. (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Very nice! I like how you compressed a fairly complex building down to one baseplate and still managed to preserve the style of the building. All: I have just completed a 4.5 foot tall model of The Empire State Building: (URL) new model remains very faithful to the design of the real Empire State Building.
