  Re: Abston Church status

(...) I did a search for weblog on Google, and didn't find anything (quickly) which gave me any idea what it is. I didn't even need anything more than a Lugnet posting to convince myself I couldn't host pictures on my own web site (see this posting: (...) (22 years ago, 1-Jul-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Cool LEGO Architecture examples?

Thanks to everyone who's posted and emailed me privately so far. Once Brickshelf gets up and running again, I'll go in and try to find some stuff to show my students in my "Intro" presentation on the first day of class. (...) The part I like about (...)   Re: Cool LEGO Architecture examples?

(...) Here's a couple to start you on your way. The first is one of my models, a slightly compressed version of the BP building in Cleveland, OH: (URL) is, however, very large and unlikely to be duplicated without a great deal of bricks. On a much (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

Amy's designs are incredible! Even with the Abston Church currently offline she still offers a strong architectural presence in the work she has online. Thank you Amy! Dan (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church status

(...) The initial reason your site got pounded was because of Slashdot. Your system suffered what's called "The Slashdot Effect". Think of it as unintentional DDoS attack. Most DSL/Cable connections can't serve that level of requests. Not to mention (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Cool LEGO Architecture examples?

Hello, I teach CAD at a Community College in California, and for the last few semesters I've incorporated LEGO (specifically, LEGO Technic) into my curriculum. My students design a vehicle by modeling the pieces on the computer (AutoCAD, presently). (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

Amy & All, (...) Yikes! (...) Sheesh. (...) Looking forward to seeing it again, it was too bad that it got hti so much, it is a stunning and beautiful creation. : ) Scott S. -- (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Abston Church status

The Abston Church of Christ pages were taken offline some time ago because they received more traffic than I can afford to serve. In the three days before I took them down they received 32,000 visitors, and each visitor used an average of somewhat (...)   Anywhere NYC.....just about

Hello, I wanted some 'Jonathan time' on Fathers Day, so I spent an hour or so building a couple of new facades for my planned town layout. This is the link to the Brickshelf folder. The new buildings are the red ones. (URL) like how the tiles look (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Pics: 3 more buildings

(...) Yup:-) (...) Actually, it does just rest in there; I built this shed years ago before I was clever enough to figure out how to mount it. Now, I'm still not clever enough, except to study James Mathis' work here: (URL) and mount it adapting (...) (22 years ago, 15-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: 3 more buildings

Hey John, You're right, those train engines do steal the show. :) Nothing against the building, they're just some of the most amazing models I've seen. On the red building, I really like the round window above the entryway. I'll have to try that (...) (22 years ago, 15-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

  Pics: 3 more buildings

The updating continues. 1. I'm not sure what I did, but I noticed that I had deleted pics of my SOL green building. There some new pics of that. 2. I reshot a few of my tan building. 3. I took some new ones of my engine shed. I thought that it would (...) (22 years ago, 15-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Updated Building Pics

(...) To be honest, neither would have I, had I not purchased a bunch of Oasis Ambushes and not had a pile of them in front of me to just mess around with. The whole tan building was designed around that serendipitous experience. And the funny part (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch)
