The initial reason your site got pounded was because of Slashdot. Your system
suffered what's called "The Slashdot Effect". Think of it as unintentional DDoS
attack. Most DSL/Cable connections can't serve that level of requests. Not to
mention most hardware that runs on this types of connections. I've actully seen
it take down certain enterprise level sites, too. Anyway, I too am looking
forward to the Church being back online. The co-workers that I sent a link to
were flabergasted by your creation. It truly is a work of art and a wonderful
dedication.
