I'm sure everyone will be very surprised, but...

I agree with Mladen in this instance. Yeah, maybe he didn't pull any
punches, but I have to say that I agree with his general sentiment.

However, Bobby does have some nice features... I think the head is well
done, and I like the cockpit entry with the magnets and the domes. I just
think it needs work. Right now it has the appearance that it was cobbled
together from every piece in the toybox.

If size was the only goal, then I suppose it's successful, but I don't think
design and detail should be sacrificed in the name of making it huge.

Do you have some obsession with size?

I'm sorry to say this...

But I'm not really that inspired or amazed by your Gundam. I mean sure the
size
is huge, but what else is there. The arms on your mecha look way too thin, the
hands are too small, the head is way too large, the shoulders are half
built...
Sure, you might have reached the height benchmark, but you sure did sacrifice
looks, among other things such as movement of the limbs.

To me, a good LEGO model is something that has a great design. The whole point
of building with LEGO is to make something that, well looks cool. I'm not
saying that your mecha isn't cool, I'm just saying that all you seem to care
about is reaching a certain height in your model. To me, a cool LEGO Gundam
can
be 10 cm tall, or 22 inches tall, as long as it looks good and is complete.
But
your Gundam is 4 feet tall, yet lacks certain things that make a Gundam a
Gundam (see above paragraph).

Now I know I'll probably receive flames by posting this, and I know that you
can build whatever you want to build, but I'm just trying to give a little
constructive criticism.

If you have a rebuttal to anything I say in this post, well let me hear it!

;-)

(...) Again, I must agree with you guys and that is why my Gundam is called ZERO, not Wing ZERO. This is my second Gundam ever and as such its flaws are countless. If I have more time in the future I would completely redesign the arms and the (...) (24 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

I think what some of the advanced builders in this forum are criticizing in this model is the uneven design. We've all experienced working on a model, perfecting the part that most interests us and which has the clearest image in our minds, then (...) (24 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
