(...) Carl, Everything looks incredible. I am not much into modeling military vehicles but yours are incredible. I love the Star Wars stuff too. Big thanks to Kevin Loch too for opening up Brickshelf like this otherwise we may never see great models (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Wow, fantastic work, Carl! It particularly interests me, because I've been planning to do some German tanks one of these days. You DEFFY SHOULD!!!! I,d love to see more military lego as its something Lego never themed so everything you see will be original...it also creates problems to overcome such as making guns and proper helmets/head gear etc,..I want to see other (...) Great model Carl! I really like how you modeled the road wheels the same as the real tank. The detail of your diorama is a real plus. Let me start out by saying that your models make me want to shelve my castle project! Seeing your models, coupled with seeing Saving Private Ryan recently, has given me some inspiration! A couple of questions... 1) I know where to get the links you (...) (24 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Tiger 1 WW2 Tank

Eric, You've made me sit here and count them!! On the Tiger there are 64 links on each side, however, the Challenger has 74. Obviously, different wheel arangements will call for more or less links. Buying 200 links will give you enough deffy. "grin" (...) (24 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Tiger 1 WW2 Tank

:-p Sorry! Thank you very much though for counting. Man, that's going to be expensive! I figured I'd buy 10 sets just to be safe. Approx. $60 will give me enough for two tanks or so! The guy that sits next to me at work is a big time scale modeler. (...) (24 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

All right, I've been following this part with some curiosity .... Where can you get these tank treads? I looked at the LEGO Dacta link that Larry posted, and I'm not convinced that they are the same as the ones Carl used. In fact, I'm pretty sure (...)   Re: Tiger 1 WW2 Tank

(...) That was my guess. By my analysis, it isn't worth ordering. You can get 36 belt links for $6.50 (or about 18 cents each) You can get 180 small links for $6.50 (or about 3.6 cents each) Using these prices (with a little more accuracy) I get a (...)
