Todd,
Although your math is probably right on (I didn't double check), mine is also
not far off. Mine is calculating the number of bulk tubs. It would 1,667 to
2,500 bulk tubs to have that many bricks. Granted, a bulk tub will hold about
2500 bricks in it, but the initial space while is the sealed box is bigger.
2,500 to 3,000 bulk tubs would comprise a hell of a load. When we ship
walnuts, 1,728 cases fills a truck up voume-wise (it would be overweight, so
we have to put on less) and the walnut boxes are only a little bit larger than
a bulk tub.
If I were to buy that many tubs at one pop, they would need to deliver them
with a fully loaded semi and I better have a (non-technic) forklift handy.
Also, if you could sort 1 brick per second, including opening boxes, throwing
away materials, storing full containers and such, you would have to work 40
hours per week for 14 weeks just to sort 2 million bricks. With bulk tubs, it
might be easy. Try to sort, seperate and store 3 Supercars in 1 hour. If you
can, imagine doing that task 600 to 900 times. I would be sick of Lego by
then.
I suppose that is why Conan lets everyone else use his bricks. That is too
many for one person to deal with.
