Hmmm... This is a fascinating idea.  I'm going to have to play around with
this some.
A while back there was a thread with similar ideas going around but it was
all centered around making more intricate windows for cathedrals.  The threw
around several mounting ideas.
I'm going to have to consider this one a bit.

Thanks,
Kim

This takes me back to childhood when I had this model train.  Very nice
detail.  I have one small (and humble "trick" you might want)there is a way • to
do lettering where you turn plates on the side to get skinnier letters. • It's
sort of cheating though.  It works like this: 5 plates placed vertically is
equal to 2 bumps horizontally.  Conversly plates placed vertically 2 bumps
high is equal to 5 plates (1.66) bricks vertically.  I hope this makes • sense.
It's a ratio thing.  Then to keep them from falling out you make the bottom
vertically placed plate fit in between two bumps of the bottom plate.  Also
you need to use flats to make a clean fit.  What happens when you take this • to
an extreme is that you can put smaller "modules" into part of a larger sign • or
wall or whatever and put those on the side where you need it and have the • rest
normal.

(...) You might want to use some of the technic tubing. Like what is used for the FLEX system, or even the pneumatic tubing. Dave (25 years ago, 22-Jul-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)

I was wondering if this sort of "turning" the bricks thing had made the rounds. I actually used this techniquie to make a round window for a friend, but I still need to mail it to him (I've lost his address). I have seen a few wonderful Rose windows (...)
