  Re: The Cruella d'Villa

(...) ROSCO! Thank you--that reminded me that I have a program for my Minolta DiMage Z6 that does batch processing. The Brickfest 2007 pics are now resized, and the folder will be public again soon. Lesson learned: I promise from here out that my (...) (18 years ago, 13-May-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

(...) (URL) Irfanview> has a batch mode, allowing you to easily resize as many images as you like with a few mouse clicks. ROSCO (18 years ago, 12-May-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: The Cruella d'Villa

(...) Hi again-- I don't like posting to my own posts, but so you all know...I have taken Ben's advice and gone through both the Cruella d'Villa and the Minifigs on Tour pictures on Brickshelf ((URL)) and resized them to roughly 1000x750 for faster (...)   Re: The Cruella d'Villa

(...) Ben: The resize thing isn't a bad idea--I have my camera set for ridiculously huge for a reason--it makes for better pics at printing for 8x10. But, I will try to resize them all over the weekend (at least, the Cruella d'Villa pics) to (...) (18 years ago, 12-May-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: The Cruella d'Villa

I also like how your villa has that classic 1970's set feel with the arches and tile walkway. I do have a couple of suggestions about your pictures. Please resize them to be around 1000x750 or 800x600 pixels. If your pictures load faster, more (...) (18 years ago, 11-May-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: The Cruella d'Villa

(...) Nifty! Simple and sweet. In these days of abundance, this invokes the classics. Well played! (18 years ago, 11-May-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Great Wall of China

(...) When I first saw a picture of this MOC, it looked like a massive diorama. Closer examination revealed the brick saving forced perspective. I would say that your idea worked. Very clever! -Jim (18 years ago, 10-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Oooh, I like the type of parts you used. I liked seeing what you made! (18 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Great Wall of China

(...) Wow. Great work on the forced perspective. It really does trick the eye from the right angles. Tim (18 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.build)

  Great Wall of China

I know this MOC has been done a few times but I added a small twist: The turrets, road, and wall get smaller from the front of the model to the back of the model. I hoped that this would add to the illusion of an extended depth. (URL) More pictures (...) (18 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) Yes, I see that that arch was last used in 2000, but a similar one (3x6x5) seems to have replaced it (2000-2006). (...) Although in this instance, I hardly think that part of a Belville Desk would interfere with a Designer Victorian arch. :) (...) (19 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) As we've found out bit by bit from Lego model designers, there's a LOT of rules about what can and can't be used and why! As other have said, it might be because of cost or availability, but it might be for other reasons too! For instance, (...) (19 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) --snip-- (...) As the other respondants have mentioned set designers have to use the part selection very carefully to minimise costs. A Victorian arch piece is an extremely specialised piece which would probably be used only in two or three (...) (19 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) Did they go into specifics on why they can't use it? It looks like the last time that part was released in a set was 2000, and I know that when they are designing a set, each part/color combo will have a "price" assigned to it, which will be (...) (19 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) Quite possibly its simply the case that this part is not currently being produced. (or on the list of "parts designers can use in sets at this time") Peeron says the last time the arch was used in a set was in 2000. Remember that TLC (...) (19 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

Folks, I built this little 115 piece structure about a year ago. For American AFOLs this little confection would be familiar sight, since such Victorian Queen Anne style gazebos can be found in small town squares and city parks all across America. (...) (19 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Aeroflot Antonov An-28

Tim, You're one of the very most prominent builders on Lugnet these days, thanks for sharing yet again. Very cool to see these aircraft of yours, especially since you have knack for trying out aircraft that others haven't built in LEGO before, or (...) (19 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)
