Did they go into specifics on why they can't use it? It looks like the last
time that part was released in a set was 2000, and I know that when they are
designing a set, each part/color combo will have a "price" assigned to it, which
will be based on things like how cost-effective it is to produce it, and whether
any other concurrent models are using the same part in that color. If no other
models are using that part at all, using it for just one model will chew up a
much larger chunk of the budget for that set than using, say, a red 2x4 brick.
So, it could be that they are allowed to use it, but that they'd never be able
to meet the price point for a set that small. Or they might have worn out the
mold and have no intent of replacing it.

| Folks, I built this little 115 piece structure about a year ago. For American AFOLs this little confection would be familiar sight, since such Victorian Queen Anne style gazebos can be found in small town squares and city parks all across America. (...) (18 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)
