And you won't believe why..... because the LEGO designers are not allowed to
use that fancy arch in their designer models!!!!!

I can quite eaily believe it and I'm rather surprised you were surprised by it.
As the other respondants have mentioned set designers have to use the part
selection very carefully to minimise costs. A Victorian arch piece is an
extremely specialised piece which would probably be used only in two or three
sets at the very most.

Unbelievable!! One of the most interesting parts in creating Victorian
designs, and they can't use it!!

Perhaps the Victorian architecture line didn't test too well with children ;)

The Toy of the Century... and it gets down to this... poor availability in
windows and now they can't even use some of their fanciest and best parts.

Their fanciest and best parts in your eyes. Certainly not mine and probably not
a vast majority of their customers.

What a pity...

Folks, I built this little 115 piece structure about a year ago. For American AFOLs this little confection would be familiar sight, since such Victorian Queen Anne style gazebos can be found in small town squares and city parks all across America. (...) (18 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)
