  Duel-Arm Space Fighter

This is a duel-arm spacecraft with no landing gear. It's used for big space battles as the main fleet. I used alot of SNOT technique, so.. yeah. Enjoy!   A Rootin' Tootin' High-falootin' MOC

(URL) The first in a new project, I'm starting. There are so many people making Medieval villages, and modern cities. And since I'm living in a wild west town now, I thought I'd try my hand with a western town. I hope to have a whole little town set (...)   Re: Why not build a MOC to the same (mis)proportions as a mini-fig?

(...) Er... isn't that what we do all the time? (21 years ago, 11-Aug-05, to lugnet.build)

Re: Why not build a MOC to the same (mis)proportions as a mini-fig?

(...) Nice thought; you could photograph it in wide (16:9) mode and just rescale it to normal(4:3) proportions to get a "real" scale model image :-) Play On! Olof (21 years ago, 11-Aug-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Questions: Building for transportation

Yes, that is the direction I was wondering in. My big problem is joints: say I have a building that is 52 studs long. For carrying, it could divide into two near the middle, but that makes for the ugliest joint. I have tried to hide the joint next (...) (21 years ago, 9-Aug-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Painting one of my Xlarge base plates

Re: Painting one of my Xlarge base plates

(...) Seconded. I would suggest an acrylic hobby paint, such as Tamiya, Gunze Sangyo, Testors, or Polly Scale. There's other brands, as well -- see your local hobby shop (bring the baseplate and explain what you're trying to do, and they can (...) (21 years ago, 8-Aug-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Questions: Building for transportation

(...) Personally I set myself limits. I am currently building a modular train layout. No section is larger than 20x40, which is what I am comfortable with carrying. All of the buildings will come off and hopefully fit in computer paper boxes. All of (...) (21 years ago, 7-Aug-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Questions: Building for transportation

What are some techniques you use when building a large MOC for display at a show? For instance, with a tall building, do you build it in separable sections and how? For an extensive landscape, do you agonize over how to choose the baseplates so that (...) (21 years ago, 7-Aug-05, to lugnet.build)

Re: Painting one of my Xlarge base plates

(...) Larry, Perhaps if we knew what you were planning, we might be able to suggest something non-LEGO related to help. If you want something mostly smooth, wouldn't you be better off with just a sheet of plastic styrene? They come in different (...) (21 years ago, 7-Aug-05, to lugnet.build)

Re: Painting one of my Xlarge base plates

(...) Larry, although I can't help you with the painting part of your question, I can with the smooth baseplate question.... There were many instance of baseplates with smooth areas. The one that comes to mind are the Homemaker sets of 1972-82. Some (...) (21 years ago, 7-Aug-05, to lugnet.build)
