Larry,
Perhaps if we knew what you were planning, we might be able to suggest something
non-LEGO related to help.  If you want something mostly smooth, wouldn't you be
better off with just a sheet of plastic styrene?  They come in different
thicknesses, and you can probably cut to shape whatever size you need. Plus, you
can paint those styrene sheets and not kill any baseplates.

Scott, I just purchased the full diver collection and thought it would be nice to have a larger "ocean" for the boats to be on. Larry (19 years ago, 8-Aug-05, to lugnet.build)
