New MOC: Beach Buggy —Fredrik Glöckner
I've made a Technic Beach Buggy with independent front suspension. It is made in the Technic LEGO style, meaning that the body is not full; it is only outlined by the Technic bricks. I'm not too happy with the front windscreen and the seats, but (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

RE: New MOC: Beach Buggy —Ralph Hempel
(...) (URL) again, Fredrik raises the bar on the combination of mechanical design and graphical presentation with the beach buggy. Have a look at his articulated truck, too. Beautiful. Cheers, Ralph Hempel - P.Eng ---...--- A picture is worth a (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy —Rose Regner
(...) Do you (or any one else reading this thread) have a POV to DXF convertor? If you do, could you convert the Beach Buggy to DXF, ZIP it and send me the file?? I shall return an animation of the buggy. I have been wanting to do some animation of (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) I'm afraid I can't help you here. I have only used the LDraw DAT format and the POV-Ray format. I have no experience with other formats. Try the newsgroup `lugnet.dat'. Perhaps someone there can help you. BUT: You can make animations using (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

Go here: (URL) will also find links to download LDraw, and a number of (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy —Terry Keller
(...) Exceedingly clever use of those new pieces. That's what I think. It took me several minutes of close examination to fathom the articulation of the control arms. Then I was impressed. Very clever indeed. :-) -- Terry K -- (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) Wow, thanks. It will probably be more clear how the vehicle is constructed when I can release the LDraw source. It surprised me how sleek the front suspension could be made using the new style Technic parts. Perhaps this is how the 8448 front (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy —Gregor Benedikt Rochow
(...) (URL) the page, it says that due to the lower suspension arm being shorter, the angle of the wheel changes a tiny bit with suspension travel. I'm having trouble imagining which way the wheels would tilt, but could this be adapted to provide (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) That's an interesting idea! I've pondered a bit about this, and I think the wheels tilt the correct way, but I'm not quite sure about it. I'll take a look at the model when I come home. Now I understand why some car manufacturers advertise (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy —Gregor Benedikt Rochow
(...) I see...I hadn't made that conection either. (...) Well, you have achieved that. (Though I wonder how wiggly the use of the new steering parts makes it - I haven't done much with them, but on 8428/32, those semi-large wheels were downright (...)         Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) It does wiggle a bit, there's no denying that. But it still works very well, actually. Fredrik (25 years ago, 25-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)
