Thanks for the compliment.

At first sight I thought the canopy would not open, but it does! Wow!

It was a requirement :-)

How did you make the, hmmm, 3x3 curved thingy fit the front of the engine? I saw in Ryan Wood’s misc folder a way to do it, having your name. Is that the way? I found an other way, but it’s not strong enough. It uses the exhaust pipe I got with one of the racer bikes (you can see that part here when Tofu is wearing her space suit). I’ll try to take some pics and post them here anyway.

Ryan’s assembly is a way that he worked out, and yes he did name it after me (whatta guy :) although I’ll let him comment on his own experimentation process.

The way he figured out is not the way I did it. I didn’t use the part you mention either. But since there seems to be more than one way to do it, I’m not going to divulge my method here just yet: I want to see how others do it :-)

Final word : I have to try and build this one, the SNOT you use to hold / open the canopy looks very interesting.

It was fun to figure out, and for that scale and functionality, SNOT is the only way to go.

Between he and I, we have two solid ways of making those two pieces fit together, and I'm willing to bet that someone will come up with some other surprise technique to make it (...) Here is the assembly I found for this engine configuration : (URL) The main problem with this configuration is that it's not sturdy at all... and I didn't try to solve this issue yet. But I like very much the "perfect fit" of itly. Cheers, JP. (20 years ago, 17-Jun-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, FTX)
