We’ve had some very large individual creations that are part of layouts, too. but again, not necessarily 30 feet (Chris’s airport was only 20, I think, and Scott Sanburn’s gas station was another biggie. Steve Ringe has been bringing a built up layout subsection that’s at least 15 if not 20 feet long too)

Hope that helps...

I was thinking the same thing. Last year’s Study 9 (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=268011) did reach the 15’ mark and Ross Crawford’s beautiful Sydney Harbor bridge (aka “Coathanger”) (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=192403) breaks the 4m mark. My own experience building long, well detailed creations by one’s lonesome has shown to take a lot of time, work, parts, and money to pull off! I can certainly imagine building a 30’ arch but also imagine doing so would require at least 30K parts (LOTS 2x2 tiles).

Here’s one that’s about 14’ in length.

I know, I know, it includes MEGABLOKS, but the designer points out that this was due to the $$ limitations of using only LEGO, which did not offer bulk sales in 1997, whereas RITVIK was willing to support large bulk purchases. Unfortunately, this policy seemed to have been terminated when I contacted RITVIK about it back in ‘99.

Dave!
