Just curious: Has anyone ever done a single 30 MOC? (Excluding things like
track layout, etc, and the LEGO Group) Whether Space, Castle, whatever?

Questions, questions, questions! Modern minds can come up with three
questions. Peasant Pete is full up, so now hes off to the Kingdoms modern
science lab!

You could lay 36 straight roadplates end to end, place some bricks on each
side of the road to create a fence and call that a 30 MOC.

Right, and arguably that counts even though thats not nearly as much work as a
small.er creation with lots of detail.
Im sort of curious what this questions trying to get at. Train clubs and space
moonbase displays are clearly exceeding 30 feet easily, on a regular basis, but
that work is not the work of a single person.
Weve had some very large individual creations that are part of layouts, too.
but again, not necessarily 30 feet (Chriss airport was only 20, I think, and
Scott Sanburns gas station was another biggie. Steve Ringe has been bringing a
built up layout subsection thats at least 15 if not 20 feet long too)
Hope that helps...
