Right, and arguably that counts even though that’s not nearly as much work as a small.er creation with lots of detail.

You’re right. That was just a cheesy joke on my part.

I’m sort of curious what this question’s trying to get at. Train clubs and space moonbase displays are clearly exceeding 30 feet easily, on a regular basis, but that work is not the work of a single person.

We’ve had some very large individual creations that are part of layouts, too. but again, not necessarily 30 feet (Chris’s airport was only 20, I think, and Scott Sanburn’s gas station was another biggie. Steve Ringe has been bringing a built up layout subsection that’s at least 15 if not 20 feet long too)

Hope that helps...

I was thinking the same thing. Last year’s Study 9 (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=268011) did reach the 15’ mark and Ross Crawford’s beautiful Sydney Harbor bridge (aka “Coathanger”) (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=192403) breaks the 4m mark. My own experience building long, well detailed creations by one’s lonesome has shown to take a lot of time, work, parts, and money to pull off! I can certainly imagine building a 30’ arch but also imagine doing so would require at least 30K parts (LOTS 2x2 tiles).
