My kids and I have just managed to get the extra bedroom all to ourselves (I
convinced my wife it would be easier to just close the door on the mess than
keep hassling us to pick up the family room). We are setting up a town with
what we have on hand and it looks like we will be able to get some kind of
shack for everything and start improving from there.
I have just rediscovered LEGO thanks to Mindstorms and it looks like the
kids were just the right age to jump in with me (5yo boy and 10yo girl). My
only mistake to date is in not keeping things organized better, I am now
sorting the bricks mostly by color into buckets and have some small
containers for mini-figs and all their items.
