Thanks Bram and Mike for the ideas,
I tried these ideas and got reasonable results using the larger shock absorber
piece that comes with the black supercar. But still a little lacking for
launching a missle made out of two round 1x1 and one round 1x1 cone stacked on
an antenna.
So I'm on to something a little different. How about using a bungee cord from
one of the bungee racer sets? You could wind it up pretty good. Maybe launch
a missle 8 feet or so with a little luck.
Think it would work?
btw: My Millennium Falcon is nearing completion and weighs in at 11 lbs so
far. Probaly add another pound or two by the time it's finished. It has
pneumatic pistons to raise and lower the landing gear and two blue air tanks
for a reservoir. You can pump up the tanks while it is on the ground and switch
the valve to lift the landing gear up. But because there is so much weight on
them, they go nowhere. But as soon as you lift the MF off the ground, the
landing gear snaps to the closed position. Pretty slick. Part of the weight
is from a 6AA battery pack that powers the front lights and a motor that drives
the top and bottom quad laser cannons, likewise the gunners seat inside. I
expect this iteration to near completion in 3-4 weeks. This is by far the
largest, most complicated, heaviest Lego creation I've ever built.
