That sounds pretty neat, Ben.  I hope you can share pictures with us when
the design is complete (or at least near complete).

Thanks Jacob for the idea.

I now have a new working prototype.  It uses a Lego bungee cord instead of • a
rubber band.  It also holds five missles stacked in an angled from the • firing
chamber.  It work something like this:

1) Pull the firing pin back

2) advance a missle into the firing tube by briefly opening a spring • loaded
firing door

3) Release the firing pin.

Now I'm looking for a way to link pulling back the firing pin, with • advancing a
single missle into the firing tube with a single motion.  Shouldn't be too
difficult.  At that point, it something of a machine gun really, limited • only
by how fast you can pull back the firing pin.  Then I'll need to revise it • into
a compact design which will be built into the hull of my Millennium Falcon • as a
concussion missle launcher.

My dad and I used to build some rubber band based
missile/torpedo launchers.
