How about this:
1) Get 2spring loaded shock absorbers
2) Make tubes around the shock absorbers with your projectiles inside the tubes
3) Attach a girder to the shocks with holes on the sides still available
4) Run an axle through the MF and the middle of your shocks. Attach it to a
girder as wide as your other one. Put axles sticking up from it on both
sides. These axles will hold the girder attached to the shocks in the
squeezed position.
5) Load the tubes.
6) Push the axle and it should free the shocks and shoot the missiles...

| (...) Sounds sort of like the mechanism I've used to make launcing torpedoes on a submarine I "LDrew", which was based on the "space cannon" from my website: (URL) 'Space' from the left, the choose the 'Interstellar Battleship'. From there, go to (...) (26 years ago, 17-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)
